Meredith Salenger was born in Malibu, California on the 14th of March 1970. She is among the famous and richest movie actresses. She won an audition competition by singing a rendition of the song Patsy Montana's I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart. By 15 Decker was living in Georgia. She had started to write songs, was making regular visits in Nashville as well as visiting record labels and music publishers looking for bargains. She was just 17 when she was spotted by an independent label representative Big Yellow Dog Records who started selling her music to various labels and artists. Decker was 17 when she caught the ear of an official from Big Yellow Dot Records. The label began to sell her music to artists and labels. Jessie James released her debut album in August of 2009. It was a self-titled project. Jessie James had a moderately success debut album. Wanted, a song that was on the album made it to the Top 40 singles chart. Decker often thought of herself as a folk singer but her marketing and production was targeted at a more pop-oriented audience. Decker's music was under greater scrutiny after the release in the form of two hits. The second single, Boys in the Summer had a country feel. Decker's second album announced under the titles of Daughter of a Gypsy or Sweet American Dreams was shelved by Mercury and after three singles failed in the charts of country music. Decker was let go of her contract.
